Sometimes the subject of long-term care can cause mixed emotions in the loved one who requires such care, as well as, the other family members in their life. The truth is that there may come a time in your family when certain circumstances indicate that it is a possibility that should be considered. Successful long-term care supplies a comprehensive range of medical, personal, and social services coordinated to meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of people who are chronically ill or disabled. For example, a loved one may be in need of someone to help monitor medications or may require assistance with personal care (including dressing, bathing, and toilet assistance). Whatever the circumstance, it is important that you and your family have the background knowledge needed in order to make an informed decision.
How do you select the best and most affordable long-term care facility for you or your loved one, or even how should you start “the conversation”?
It is a difficult task to consider long-term care and can lead to a very important decision. Complete Dignity will take the guesswork out of these decisions by providing a long-term care research plan and, upon discussing your needs and preferences, a selection plan. Our Patient Advocates will sit down with you and your loved one to create a profile of “wants and needs” in order to develop and implement an effective action plan that will leave you comfortable and at ease with your chosen solution.
We will visit, interview and submit an objective and unbiased report of up to three nursing homes in your chosen geographic location. We will also observe, evaluate and report on accreditation, government reports, cleanliness, staff to patient ratio, cost and level of care, all of which are very real and important concerns families often have.
In addition, if you need to apply for Medicaid benefits, we can research and coordinate accordingly.
